We continue to look for opportunities to make these Scout jobs more relevant and meaningful. So, in addition to the official BSA job description, we are asking Scouts with these jobs to do the following.

Leadrship Involves Crucial Convesations

Posted by pbower on Jan 31 2015 - 1:41pm

During February, Scoutmasters will meet with our youth leaders to discuss job performance during their first four months on the job. The goal of these meetings is to help Scouts derive as much benefit as possible from their time in Troop 121.  Scouting offers a supportive environment where successes and failures are viewed as equally valuable learning opportunities on a young man's journey to self-understanding and maturity.

Thank you Zach Blackwell, Callum Weiss and Ben Barno for volunteering to assist our Troop in doubling the amount of food collected during the upcoming Scouting for Food Drive.  Mrs. Moyer has agreed to serve as a special advisor to this effort.  If other parents or scouts are interested in helping with this effort, please contact Mrs. Moyer.

Successful Pancake Breakfast

Posted by pbower on Jan 31 2015 - 12:54pm

Congratulations to everyone who helped make the annual pancake breakfast a success, especially Eli Jones for his excellent leadership.  Acting independently, Eli oversaw every aspect of event preparation, including scheduling, printing of the tickets, event promotion, securing all donations, recruiting volunteers and organizing shifts.  Eli even spent the morning whipping up light and fluffy pancakes that were enjoyed by all.  Eli did all of this on his 16th birthday, which was the day of the breakfast.

2014 JTE GOLD UNIT Award Patches Available in February for $2

Posted by jbungerspiecha on Jan 24 2015 - 1:04pm

Our Journey to Excellence Gold Status means that we are providing an EXCELLENT BoyScout program.  Something that the youth leaders, scoutmasters and committee members work hard at and are very proud of.  If you want to show off what a great troop we have, I will have JTE patches for purchase for $2 each at the February 2nd meeting and the February 9th Court of Honor.  They are worn on the left sleeve, below the unit numbers or leadership emblems.  I have a few on-hand.  Once those are purchased, I will order the rest and bring them to a regular meeting to give to you.  E-mail me at janellbs@comcast.net to reserve one and I will have it for you at the COH.
