June Camping Trip: RSVP's DUE January 30th

Posted by jbungerspiecha on Jan 24 2017 - 9:46am

RSVP and activity Selection due by January 30th.   Important information regarding our June camp.   Preparations are underway for our Ocean Kayak Camp, June 9th to 11th, but we need some information by tomorrow regarding who will be attending and which activity they will be doing.

Option #1:  Open to all ages, Seining with the nature center at Island Beach State Park. You will walk out into the shallows with large nets that you throw and then drag to see what you can catch (this is a very popular activity and fills up fast). Nature center staff will be on hand to teach you how to do this and how to identify anything that you catch.

Option #2 is a Nature Kayak tour of the bay side at Island Beach State Park led by the Nature Center (only open to Scouts 14 and above). We are also hoping to take some of our own Kayaks so that the younger scouts will also get an opportunity to do some kayaking on the bay side, but this will depend on which scoutmasters are able to go on this trip.

In order to get this booked so that we can all enjoy these activities together, I need to know by TOMORROW, Monday 30th January. Please contact me asap to let me know if you will be attending this camp and which activity you want to do (THIS INCLUDES SCOUTMASTERS). IT may be possible to add scouts to the activities at a later date but there are no guarantees (you would still be able to go on the camp and enjoy the rest of the weekend).

Upcoming Religous/Cultural Visits

Posted by jbungerspiecha on Jan 22 2017 - 12:31am

The Vikings have done a great job making arrangements for the scouts to attend and experience Duty to God through religions and cultures that might be new to many of us.

Troop 121, here is the updated schedule of the next two religious/cultural visits that are scheduled for the month of January.

Note, the “Meet @ Site Time” is the time we meet at the location and NOT at CPC.

To be respectful to our hosts, please be on time so we can promptly start the meetings.

If you need to contact me, you can call my cell number 908-455-2061.

Thanks,  Xavier

Mr. Dau Is a Very Good Sport

Posted by jbungerspiecha on Jan 20 2017 - 3:13pm

What do you get when you hang around a Cub Scout pack for too long after a concert?  A pie in the face. Thank you for being such a good sport and "taking one for the team" ... literally.

Clinton Bonfire: January 28 5:30 PM (time is tentative)

Posted by jbungerspiecha on Jan 3 2017 - 5:56pm

This is a service project that the troop does for the town of Clinton but it really is more fun than it is work.  Scouts are asked to help with parking, refreshments and cleanup.  The event starts at 6 but scouts are needed by 5:30 to assist with parking.   See flyer: http://clinton121.mytroop.us/system/files/clinton_yuletide2017_2.jpg
