March's Theme is Rad Science.  A month long series of rad science experiments.  We will experiment and learn the science behind fireworks, explosions, stink bombs and plasma balls.

Campout: Geology Camping Trip March 10 to 12. 

We will welcome more new scouts crossing over on the 12th. 

The Vikings are in charge of the program.

The Troop Committee invites all Family and Friends of Troop 121 to our 2nd Annual Supper & Social. Please join us on Sunday, April 9th at Janina Market (1708 NJ-Route 31 Clinton, NJ) for an adult only social and dinner. Our goal is to enjoy an afternoon of socializing and meeting parents of the Troop while enjoying great food.  

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm ~  BYOB & Mingle with other parents

4:00 pm  ~ 3 course dinner (choice of chicken, beef, fish)

The cost is $42 per person. Reply & payent due by Monday, April 3rd (please indicate how many people are in your group). Cash or check, written to Troop 121, can be turned in at any Scout meeting or event to Steve Kovach or Tracy Schwierk. Special Guest Speaker Dr. Moolekamp

Dr. Fred Moolekamp of Princeton University will be coming to speak to the troop on Monday night.  He is an astronomer. Below is a short biography about Dr Moolekamp.  We are very fortunate to have a scientist from such a  first class university come to speak to us. Scouts should be sure to attend the meeting  in Class A uniforms.  

Parent Orientation Meeting

 On Monday, the troop will hold an orientation meeting for parents who are brand-new to the troop and for any parent that would like to know more about how the troop works.  We will talk about what you and your scout can expect in the first 6 months, the many roles of adults in the boy-led troop, and ways you can get invoved.  We will also discuss summer camp: What you need to know and what the troop has planned to help boys get ready for thier first week of camp. Meeting will be in one of the downstairs classrooms from 7:45 to 8:45.

Visit to J&J Studio 199 3/25 9:30AM

As an optional activity for interested scouts, the Troop will visit Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical, Studio 199 Multimedia facility this Saturday, March 25th. Scoutmaster Mark Dau will host the Troop.We are to meet at CPC, Saturday morning at 9:30 AM, and carpool to J&J.  Please RSVP to your patrol leader by Thursday 3/23 so that vistor passes can be arranged. 

The Studio199 multimedia facility at Johnson & Johnson is a multi-faceted video production space that incorporates “green screen” and other production capabilities.  Using Chroma key technology through Tri-Caster video technology, actors can be placed in any virtual studio set that can be imagined, using visual effects to compositing (layering) two images or video streams together.  The technique is used heavily in many fields to remove a background from the subject of a photo or video – particularly the news, motion picture and videogame industries.  At Johnson & Johnson, we use the studio to communicate news, success stories, encouragement and empowerment videos. 

Saturday Night Campfire 6:30PM, Patuto Backyard

Please join the communication merit badge scouts in a campfire and interfaith worship service at the Patuto's.  Bring a camp chair and a snack or beverage to share. Time 6:30.  Dress Code: Class A or  B.  Rain date is March 26 at 4:30 PM.
